Seen any Mossberg MVP Patrol 223 rifles?

If you're looking for something that isn't a bench rifle, feeds from AR mags, and has rails, I would guess this is the right forum.

The CZ looks really nice, but isn't available yet. The BCL Bison should scratch a similar itch.

Mossber MVP kinda sucks. I went with a Ruger American instead, it's almost a pound lighter, has a better mag release (AR style push button on the side, as oppoed to the hard to reach lever on the MVP), less sloppy bolt, and is cheaper. The only thing it doesn't have over the Mossberg is irons, but you can get the ones Nodak makes.

I have a 5.56 MVP. The bolt and mags feel sloppy, but it functions 100% and has a great trigger. I run a Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5 FFP scope.

LOVE IT!

I chose a 5.56 Bison as it takes AR and BCL magazines, so if the Libs go after AR magazines at least my Bison can use another magazine unlike all other bolt actions using AR magazines only.

I haven't been able to shoot past 48 yards, any Mossberg 50 yard group pics?

Hard to guage the rifles ability at these ranges, but I was able to print within an inch even with Barnaul at 62yds.

Being winter I usually get an idea even at only 48 yards.

Shot these groups off a bipod with my shooting buddy indoors using a 6 power post reticle (my old eyes such prefer my mildots and more magnification). I did remove the muzzle brake and touched up the barrel crown, also was using 55 grain Dillon progressive reloads. Looking forward to stretching it out in spring. Could not get heavier ammo to group the way I wanted it to.

I have an MVP Patrol and am pretty happy with it. As others have noted, the bolt feels sloppy but it works fine. I have a LAR mag that fits snugger than the one that came with the gun (and is easier to load.) Both feed properly.

It has a budget feel but is light, handy and accurate.

I have an mvp patrol in 308. Considering listing it on here, as I'm thinning the herd as I don't get to go shooting much if at all these days.

I have to say I am impressed with it. I like the mag catch design. No wobble for mags in mine. The bolt is weirdly satisfying to operate despite being somewhat sloppy. The one thing I'd say I don't like is the heavy contour barrel. Not sure what they were thinking with that. I'd rather have it step down in profile like on the Ruger Scout rifles. It's a great utilitarian rifle that looks cool with ar10 mags.

I have a MVP varmint in 223. It's one of the best shooting rifles I have that consistently shoot into 1" circle at 100 yard.

The action is definitely capable of good accuracy. Not sure about the plastic stock on the patrol.

I’d add one more thing about the MVP. If you’re used to shooting .223 through an AR or target rifle you may be surprised by the snappy recoil. The gun is light and the stock contains a tubular central strut. The butt cap is thin rubber and you can feel the end of that tube with every shot. Couple of layers of heavy clothing - no problem. I’m getting a slip on recoil pad for warmer weather.
