Sellier and Bellot 12ga 2 5/8 Reduced Recoil, 1oz slug: how many fit in mag tube?

With these 2 5/8 inch 12ga rounds, can four fit in a standard Remington 870 mag tube that fits four 2 3/4 inch rounds?

Same number. A few mossberg guys with 8 rd tubes say they can get one more but I haven't tried.

If your loading up a remington 870 that holds more then 5 rounds you will lose one round
If its a 4+1 then no problem

Why? 2 5/8 is an eighth inch shorter than 2 3/4; you should be able to fit in one extra round after only twenty-one.

Yer I know strange,I may have that mixed up with someother Euro shells.

Keep in mind the length usually refers to fired length, and exact lengths vary slightly between manufacturers. I just put one of these shells next to a few 2 3/4" shells and its actually longer than winchester heavy game #2s, and federal tactical slugs, but shorter than winchester super X 1 oz slugs.

My fired length gets pretty short. I tend to give measurements 'Pre-Fired' if you know what I mean

wouldnt those be for older circa 1900 shotguns that are chambered in 2 1/2 or 2 5/8's
