Sellier & Bellot 22LR, SB standard velocity

My DAR22 was pretty accurate with the S&B SV, reliability was almost perfect, a couple hiccups in the brick I shot.

Still prefer CCI SV as a whole, but S&B, for me, would be a healthy substitute.

It was good for me too, shot a couple of bricks. I did feel that it had less power than standard american rounds, such as federal or blazer.

I tried some in my 41 and at least for me I can't see a difference from CCI save that when I can find it CCI is cheaper

They also have a really soft lube. It feels like they're coated in tallow compared with other stuff

I picked up a case of it recently. Seems to run fine in my Pardini but it's pretty dirty compared to most stuff. I notice it's about the smokiest .22lr I've ever used as well.

I have tried it in several guns, semi-auto, lever and a known accurate bolt gun.

It functioned just fine and was more consistent than bulk ammo (Fed and Win are my go to bulk types).

However it was not accurate enough to be a "target" round, nor fast & hollow pointed to be a "hunting" round, and not dirt cheap to be a "plinking" round, so just never fit into my program.

I tried it in my old Ruger Mk-II yesterday and found it very inconsistent - some good groups, some average, and some very strange fliers where the bullet looked like it keyholed, and this was maybe 12m.

That's an old pistol with a scratched and worn bore that still performs well with what it likes. I've never seen it dislike anything as much as it did the S&B

True it's not cheap. I only tried it as a backup to CCI (which costs less when I can find it). Now that I've got a pile of cheap Federal standard velocity coming I won't have to waste the more expensive stuff when I'm just shooting cans with the 41 and just want blasting ammo.
