Hi. I have a few hand guns (registered) and comes a time i need to get rid of 1 or maybe 2. I have sold a few rifles but never handguns. What do i need to do in chronological order?
Thanks very much.

You need to call CFC with gun and buyer info. They will give you a reference number which you pass on to the buyer. The buyer calls CFC to confirm and finalize, and then...you wait. Once the transfer has (finally) been approved, you obtain an ATT to ship and you're off to the races. You can call periodically to check on the status, but nothing seems to help much and you just have to wait. What a great system we have.

A few tips (common sense maybe, but important)

- Get paid first, get the buyer's info, then call to initiate the transfer. You'll need full name, address and PAL number. Have the registration cert with you when calling.
- Ask CFC if they can send transfer approval by email. It's way more convenient, and you can always use a free throwaway email address if you're a tinfoil hat type.
- Get the buyer's phone number. Not sure if it's needed, but they did ask me for this information.
- When you call to get the STATT, know the full address of where you're going (post office), and which day you will go. Again, ask if they can email you the STATT.
- Remember to bring the transfer notice, STATT and PAL when bringing the sealed package to the post office. This is a different bundle of paper than you are used to bringing.

None of which are needed to show the post office, just normal that you should have have your PAL and the relevant ATT whenever you are out with a restricted gun, and the transfer reference for the unlikely event that you encounter police and they decide to check that you have everything. Just like shipping non-restricted guns, you don't tell the post office what's in the package.

You need to go to the EE and make sure that each firearm is sold at least 25% over market retail value plus tax...then you will probably have a good chance of selling them here.

lol. Yea. I have noticed "some" sellers think their #### is made of friggin gold. I shall price my goods at an astronomical price so's i fit in nicely. Good tip.
