Selling a Nylon 66 how much to ask?

Have a nylon 66 in Excellent condition. Feeds from the buttstock and in awesome shape, I'd say easily 9/10. Whats a fair asking price to get it sold? I see $300.00 dollar range for some with scratches and minor abuse. Would 400.00 be out of line? Really have no idea. Tried searching the classifieds and all of the ones that sold have the askingprice removed. See $300ish ones still sitting around. IF anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated.
 
I believe there was a chrome one that just sold for $350 but generally you see them in the $200 range. The chrome and especially green ones are worth more than the brown and black.
 
A guy asked me once while playing golf if he could get to the green from where he was with a 9 iron. I answered of coarse you can, just depends how many times you want to hit it.
 
While the price of these guns does seem to have risen quite a bit in the last few years, I think that $400 is way out of whack. I would thinkt more like $200, and that would be for one in as-new shape (fat chance of that!). For a 90% gun, $175 sounds more reasonable if you expect to sell it anytime soon.
 
I thought those prices sounded on the high side, but like I said, I had no idea what they are worth. Did notice there seems to be a run on these things lately. This one is in excellent shape. Figure I just may as well keep it.... but if someone wanted to give me big money for it......

If it has Made in Canada on the barrel, then it might interest a milsurp guy a bit as it would have been made at Long Branch Arsenals.

But the rifles in general are very common and not big $ items.

I saw a brown one for 195 local. My friend offered me his brown one for 150 (that's a good deal imho). I don't think you'll get 300 let a lone 400 if it's one of the brown ones. I think 200-225 for a brown one would be a good asking and see what offers you get. My very humble 2 cents.
 
Reckon I would just keep it. Its a brown carbine model. Shoots fine, doesn't jam and is in easily 9/10 shape. I might throw it up when the registry goes to treat myself to a bolt action cz or somesuch.
 
I handled one today at a gun show...it had a chromed receiver cover, black nylon stock and looked brand new.
There was no price on it and the vendor wasn't to be seen. But I'm guessing he thought he had a gold mine.
 
Keep the 66 if you ever plan on plinking/hunting in brutally cold weather. Eskimos love them here in Canada cuz they won't jam in the really cold weather.
