Selling/auctioning in the U.S.

I'm curious if anyone has gone through the process of selling a Canadian-registered milsurp on GunBroker or a similar service to a foreign buyer.

What was the experience like, and what were the costs associated with it? (e.g. how deep was the paperwork?)

Depending on the milsurp, it may not be allowed into the U.S. Any Lend/Lease firearm is definitely not allowed in. They have very strict laws about importing milsurps. Mind you, that's the buyer's problem.
You need a Canadian export permit. Proves the firearm has been permanently exported. Has to be sent by a carrier licenced under the FA too.
