I am doing my first EE sale of a restricted firearm and the buyer's as green on that as I am, so I wanted to go over the steps and ask a couple of specific questions. So the usual procedure would be:
1) Buyer EMT's the agreed-upon amount to the seller along with emailing name, pal #, address
2) Seller takes the $$$, and calls the CFC with the reg cert and buyer's info in hand
3) When the CFC is done playing solitaire, they give the seller the reference number
4) The seller gives the reference number to the buyer, who calls in and completes the transfer
5) The seller mails the firearm to the buyer
Now my questions are..
1) The buyer is also new and worried about the transfer.. Suggested an exchange of photos of PAL's.. I am a little worried about sending an actual image of my PAL to a person over the Internet.. I am assuming it's not a good idea?
2) Once the buyer has the reference number, does the seller have to call the CFC again or is the seller's say-so enough for shipping?
3) The case is pretty tight and my trigger lock wouldn't fit or I'd just give it to the buyer. Can I just zip-tie the gun and where would I route the ziptie? (single action, semi-auto, Buck Mark)
Thanks in advance for any info you guys can offer. I wanna make sure it's all Kosher so both of us walk away from the transaction happy.
