Point me in the right direction if this has already been discussed, but I am wondering if it's possible to list some of my restricted stuff on say Gunbroker and sell to a US buyer.

Irunguns (site sponsor) offers the service to list on gunbroker. The gun needs to be importable to the US. Under 3" barrels I believe are no go and many weird exceptions and counterexceptions. Borderview, also a sponsor, offers a US export service, though unsure if tgey will list.

You can also get in touch with the Canadian auctions like Switzers, Landsborough, Meyers, GTA, Kidd - they have both US and European buyers. But again not everything is admissable. Many US buyers use Borderview to export their purchases to them.

I kinda wonder what the future of restricted gun auctions will be. Dealer only like in the UK?

What are you trying to sell? Very knowledgeable folks on here could likely tell you if it's importable to the US or other places.

Yup. A pre-war HP is admissible to the US. I believe it is a C&R too so you should be able to avoid the engraving requirement. Good luck. But I think you should still give someone in Canada a chance - send it to an auction like Switzer's.

Unless you are just checking if you will be able to sell after c-21 - in which case the answer is yes - you will definitely be able to find a buyer in the US or overseas.

Also, just to throw it out there, Prophet River (site sponsor) also does import/export. I've dealt with them a number of times, and their service is tops. That's the route I will be going if at some point I decide to sell off my collection.

Does Prophet R offer a service to list on GB? I'm not a fan of IRG, but I was told they are the only ones who will do gunbroker as opposed to a specific recepient/buyer...

I was wondering if I could list it on GB and ship it myself?

Short answer is no.

Exception being if you can take possession of a gun in the US (e.g. you are recognized as a resident in a particular state that allows it, not all do) then someone like Borderview or IRG can process the importation to the US for you and get it into your hands, then you can list it however you want.

But if the gun is in Canada now, you can't ship it to the US as things stand. You _can_ as a private person apply to the Dept. of Foreign Affairs and Trade for an export permit to Europe if you find a buyer there and then you _can_ ship it (not by post though - air cargo)
