Ok, so I already have a Lakefield (ie. Savage) Mark II bolt action that was given to me by my Grandfather (it's 20+ years old). I love the gun, but it's a pain in the arse to have to load 10 round mags over and over and I'm not a fan of the bolt action.
I have been looking at semi-autos for the past while and I am interested in picking one up. I love the fact that I could just pull the trigger again and again without letting my eye leave the scope.
What would be your suggestions on a decent semi-auto .22 in the $200-300 price range?
I have looked on the web (and the EE) and I am sort of keen on the Savage or the Marlin. I don't really care about customization or mag size, so 10/22 is an option but not the be all end all for me.
What are your thoughts?
