Looking for a semi-auto .243, something new but not something that will break the bank..I know browning has a model out there but $1100 is steep for a coyote gun. Can anyone suggest a semi-auto .243? Absolutely love the .243 cartridge.

Where you are matters.
The Remington M7400 was discontinued in 2004, in favour of their M750. A 750 runs $785.00 for a Woodsmaster. $690 for a Synthetic. Neither is a varmint rifle though.

Yeah I was just looking for a semi .243 for a fun coyote gun. The areas in which I hunt them combined with our ridiculous provincial regs here in NS make the .243 the perfect round.I enjoy semi autos as opposed to bolt actions, I just like the availability of an extra shot instantly.

Don't like a bolt ? ...
Try the Remington 7600 pump in .243. Easy in & out 4 shot magazine. The 7600's are very reliable and surprisingly accurate. Piece of cake to scope mount or put a peep sight on.

The Remington auto loaders work well-enough if you keep them clean (especially the chamber) and well maintained ... and not over-lubricated. Makes me cringe when I see the odd character discharging a 20 second spray burst of WD-40 or some other wonder concoction into the action and letting it drip dry on the rack.. Whacking the magazine home with a thump is sure to do wonders for the magazine latch over time too.

Yeah not a fan of bolts. My eyes are bad so its easier to just keep my eye on the target ..less recoil and more dependability for what I need.

DItto on THis one
