I am a newbie!! I am thinking about getting a semi-auto Beretta 12 gauge. I am only 5'4" and 117 lbs. I plan on shooting Skeet and sporting clays. Would this be too much gun for me? Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance........

The 390 & 391 series Berettas are well made reliable shotguns.

Being a gas operated semiauto the felt recoil is less than a pump action or an O/U double.

I suggest you try one before buying & when you buy make sure that the shims are adjusted for the best possible fit.

Th beretta extrema 2 has an adjustable LOP (length of pull) wihich might be nice. The Extrema, I found way too long and very difficult to shorten. I am about 5'6" or so.

Not sure about the sporting berettas, I haven't handled many.

You may want to look at a Beretta 391 Parallel Target RL.

The stock length is 1" shorter than the standard Beretta's, basically a
target gun for the smaller framed shooter. It comes with 2 recoil pads
of different thicknesses ... with the smaller of the two pads installed,
the LOP is reduced to 13.7" My wife shoots one set up this way ... she's
about 5-6" . I have a Beretta 391 Parallel Target SL which I use for Skeet, Sporting & 5 Stand. Great guns... very reliable & soft shooting.
