semi auto options

I'm looking at a non restricted .22lr semi auto rifle. What is there besides the 10/22? I'd like to stay at around a $300 mark.

Marlin 60/795, savage 64 (or old cooey/lakefield 64), remington 597, mossberg plinkster, thats about all I can think of right now.

Bass pro in Toronto had both 60 and 795 in stock last week. $179 for 60 and $149 for 795. Both synthetic stocks. Now get off your behind and order one. You won't find a better value in 22 semi-auto's.

+1 for the savage 64g. Not customizable but if you want a reliable accurate semi auto, $170 is hard to beat.

Marlin 60.I just got one a few weeks ago and love it.Don't like synthetic that much so I am ordering a laminate stock from Boyds later in the week.

I agree with e Remington 597 , they are a great little gun.

I own both the Remington 597 and Ruger 10/22, in my opinion they are neck and neck. Yes the 10/22 has tons of aftermarket available for it, but Remington is a good solid plinker right out of the box and does have some accessories available. The Remington feels a little better against my shoulder.

The remington 597 has an hold-open, the ruger 10-22 has not. This is why I prefer the remington.

I had this 3-9x32 scope that came with my Marlin 336 so I decided to put it on the 795 instead. Its a much better fit for it.

Not like the old, but congrats! I bet it shoots good! I bought a cheapy $65 1987 Marlin Model 70. It would not fire, I extended the firing pin and whoa la...best rimfire I own. I have rare rimfires and this one will be the last to leave the safe!!
