I am fairly new to reloading.I am using lee pacesetter dies with the factory crimp die,for my bolt actions I am just using the bullet seating die for crimping and it works great but I am just starting to load for my 30-06 which is a semi. What I am wondering is should I be using the factory crimp for it and how do I know how much crimp to give it.Any sugestions and instruction from you expierianced hand loaders out there would great as I said I am a newbie and am not real sure on different things and dont want to start until I know.

Unless your bullet is moving in the case there's no reason to crimp for a 06 semi.
None at all for a bolt action 06

If you feel for some reason you need to crimp for either, set up your crimp die with just 1/8-1/4 turn, be sure all your brass is exactely the same length.
