Semi-auto rifle

I am in the process of deciding on a semi-auto rifle (probably .223) and need help. I have ruled out the mini-14 and currently and am leaning towards the AR-180B non-restricted as I want to be able to use this for shooting varmints. Are there other options out there i should be looking at? This is my first "black" gun and need your advice as i will have to get on waiting lists.

Since when the ACR is classified as restricted by the name? Did the RCMP send reps to 2008 SHOT Shows to check 'em out?

Sorry, I jumped the gun on that one, I was thinking Remington. I guess there is still hope
