Semi-auto shotgun capacity question should

Hello,

I can not seem to find a solid answer on this, debating calling the rcmp them self to ask.

My question is in a semi automatic shotgun it’s clear we can only have 5 shells in the tube, same rules as rifles , now if a shotgun is chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells could you legally have a extension tube that fits five 3 inch shells? Because in that case the tube would fit SIX 2 3/4 inch shells thus technically breaking the law?

I have a benelli M4 and I want to put the S&J hardware tube on it, it says it will allow 5 of the 3 inch shells but that would also allow for six of the 2 3/4, so if the slight chance the RCMP checks up when I am target shooting would this be a valid argument?

I believe capacity is determined by the max chamber size, not the minimum.

Put a piece of dowel in the tube when using 2 3/4" shells if your worried about it. I'd avoid calling the rcmp about something like that at any expense, depending on the idiot that you speak with it may open a big can of worms.

Your allowed 5 shells of what is stamped on the barrel. If it fits 5.9x 3" shotgun shells then your good to go. As long as you cant fully fit 6. So yes, you can in 'theory' have 6x 2 3/4" shells.

Rcmp opinion in the FRT is 5 of the shortest shells chambered for, but that’s as made up as their other opinions.

The chamber length is the only length 'designed for'.
The magazine's only immutable spec is its diameter. It will hold minis, to even longer than the chamber takes.

When in doubt; if it's more fun, go with the other option.
That's the mentality.

Probably best to have at least half a dozen of the longest shells your auto-shotty is chambered for, if you're shooting shorter ones, just in case you're called-on to prove it will chamber five but not six of the rated size.

The answer is zero. They will be banned soon if the Liberals get elected. I recommend focusing your efforts on spreading the word and getting people to vote CPC.
