Guys,

After shooting my Tikka for so many years, and it serving me faithfully during the slaying of thousands of RGS's (gophers), I decided to update some things. Apologies for the iphone pic...

-LH T3 varmint in .223
-GRS 'Sporter-Varmint' stock (comes with pre-installed STEEL recoil lug)
-Atlaxworxs DBM system
-NF NXS 5.5-22x56 NP-R1 reticle
-Bolt handle/shroud from HSS in Austrailia

I finally get to mess around with longer bullets that can still feed from the mag! I've been shooting very accurate/fast 55gr VMAX loads through it for a while, so will be interesting to see what it can do with a 75-80gr pill.

The GRS stock is super nice. Very high quality hardware and probably the most comfortable stock I've ever owned. Literally the first time I've been able to get a SOLID cheekweld with this rifle. Stock packs just don't get high enough without getting wobbly... this is perfect! Time from ordering to in my hands was about 5 weeks...couldn't order direct from GRS, so ordered through their Alberta based distributor.

Ordered it from Atlasworxs directly... They are in Australia..$160 to your door!!!. Ordered the stock with CDI Precision inlet, and the atlasworxs actually dropped right in!!! No extra fitting needed... Still need to bed the whole works though...

Damn.

Last question, where'd you get the flip-up covers? I have the exact same scope and hate the bikini cover.

The package from AUS arrived in 9 days. :) Faster than some CDN companies! No import hassles and no taxes.

Flip ups are standard Butler Creeks. Can't recall the sizes... but they suck. The rear is already broken. Better than bikini covers yes, but I wish there was a better solution!!!

Who was the stock ordered through? I like the looks of the adjustable hunter for my new 6.5x284.

Got mine from Joe at ArrrrPeeeEsss International. I asked GRS directly, and they referred me to a few dealers in Canada... none of them (i don't believe) are site sponsors.

This stock is wicked.

Stop posting pics, my plain jane T3 is getting jealous ;)

In all seriousness well done pimping your tikka. Let us know how you like the stock after putting it to use.

redstartargets.com carries the GRS stocks as well. Not a site sponsor yet but I believe they are going to become one in the near future.

Nice looking stock. How thick is the thinnest section behind the grip (asks a guy that has seen a lot of broken lam stocks)?

Ian it is not a competiiton stock (I bought one last fall and it will go on a Tikka for range use in the rain but NO it is not suitable for competiiton, quite thin compared to those stocks being used today
