I want some work done on one of my shotguns, but can not find anyone in Canada who can do the work. I have found several people in the States who can do the work. Has anyone sent there guns south for work. What is the procedure for doing this.

Thanks.

Phone Clay at Prophet River Firearms. My understanding is that you will need a Canadian Import permit + a US export Permit to get it back from the States into Canada. That will cost you.I an send a bolt to the States for work but the gunsmith will not accept it due to the paperwork hassles sending it back. Mur

You need an experienced broker for the paper work and as previously stated the folks at Prophet River are apparently very good at shipping guns back and forth. From what I have been told it is getting it back out of the USA that is more difficult than getting it in.

Just like building a new house, alot of permits and paper work but it will get done in time.
So you decided to get a real nice rib on that M-12 16 ga.

As I understand it, being a shotgun, the US DoS doesn't really care. This may be waaaay easier than you think, much easier than any rifle or pistol.

I think it may have been Clay that I was talking to about this, actually. Give him a call.

Being local to Clay and his gang makes things easy for me. Two days ago he shipped a rifle of mine south for restocking. THe process was so simple. I took the gun in and gave him the destination address and that was it. He and his crew took over from there. Their services have certainly made things for me very simple. Worth a call for sure. Good luck.

Have you talked to this guy??
