Sent in my PAL registration, now what?

I just sent in my registration for a non-restricted PAL, is there anyway to track the progress online or over the phone? I live in Saskatchewan if that helps.
The RCMP website has a online option to track the status of your application. I'm on the phone so I can't get you a link, but if I recall correctly it is on the right side of the main page. Or just google for it and it should be in the first few results.

Now you play the waiting game. Anywhere from 28 days to several months. Welcome to the club.

OH, you've got a LOT of reading to do :)

If you're new to firearms, search for Tales of the Gun. The first 20 episodes in the series (of 38) are very interesting and teach the whole history & development of modern firearms. The later 18 episodes get into specific guns and how they were used, also pretty neat stuff.

Thankyou, I will have to check that out. I want to get a rifle to use at the range for target shooting right now. I don't have my hunter safety course, but that is on my agenda for next year probably. Just looking at hunting paper, there are so many differen cartridges and rifles, boogles the mind.

Once they receive your application, get your references to call them, as opposed to waiting for them to call your references. That will shave weeks off of your waiting time. That is what me and five of my buddies did for each other.

Mine took 22 days after they received my application before it eventually showed up at the RCMP website. This seems to be the average waiting period as mentioned by other members as well.

mine took 21 days to show up online and show in process for the next week,
on the 28th day it changed from finished initial processing to now in progress, on the 29th day I checked online still the same, I called in to make sure their were no errors
and politely asked how long it could take and jokingly stated I was missing out on a bunch of sales, I could hear a bunch of typing and she then said my app was approved and license issued I said WOW thank you very much, but she would not give me my pal # so I could order online and said I would have to wait on the mail, fair enough.
after I hung up (call took about 10 mins) I immediately checked online again and it had switched to liscence issued,
so call on the 29th day after they recieve it. worked for me I got the feeling if I hadnt called I wouldve still been waiting

A couple things I did to help it along.
1/wait 28 days. They will not touch it for 28 days. I called on day 29 and was interviewed right then.
2/Have you references call in with your application reference number
3/double check you application information, they entered the wrong house number on mine
4/Dont harass them!!! I think they track how many times you call them
