BDL's rifles do not seem to have American import markings, and if so they are not obvious. But they're not quite as inexpensive, but you get what you pay for I believe (better actually if you consider what equivalent 1950's are selling for up here).
We may hate it, but "import marks" are now part of the history of the milsurps comeing into the country.
Personally, at this stage of the game, if I find a desireable piece and its only flaw is an import mark, I just suck it up and buy it.
I agree, the pieces without marks will always draw a premium price. To throw away an opportnity of owning a rarer piece because of import marks is just cutting off your nose to spite your face, kind of like voteing Liberal.
