Hola el jefe!
The ORA (?) has a service rifle subsection, and there will be matches and practises throughout the shooting season for the nonmilitary teams.
The OSA (a deliberate play on words) is based at Keith Cunningham's range in Kinmount, ON. If you check the MILCUN site, you will see there are clinics and matches to prepare for the big show at Connaught. It is about half the distance between Ottawa and Borden. I've never been on one of Keith's clinics, but the number of Queen's Medalists he has coached speaks to the effectiveness of his methods.
If you go with a Restricted rifle, you will need to have an approved range destination for the transport papers. Guys have done well with Norinco's other products, the M14 and SKS. Not as much Look Cool Factor, but much cheaper than the other 90% of guys on the line. If you can work a stripper clip for another 5 shots, have at it.
