Service Rifle Training day in Abbotsford.

You are putting this on when I can't make it on purpose aren't you ;)

Don't worry, I'm in Calgary for the week and took advantage of the 900m range to do some shooting out to 500m with my new load :D

LOL... well the rifles where shooting well enough given the wind and cold that I was very happy... infact my AR was shooting a tighter group at 500m than my Rem700 sniper rig. Now that could mean my AR really rocks or my 700 needs some help ;)

training day was cold and windy, but Longshot didn't hold anything back. I was taking notes, listening and learning. simple and to the point instructions, especisly on positional shooting. stuff I never read or seen before. my new sitting position is totaly stable. thanks Longshot,

We'd rather kick your ass when you're standing.Better follow through.;):p:D

BTW, Thx for putting up with us today and showing us the ways of the Almighty "Side Part".:p:D

Awesome session Longshot. As a newbie, it was EXCACTLY what I needed.

First I had the scope zeroed to 100 meters, learned how to 'read' my Elcan and learned the basics I need to know.

I also learned that I needed a higher cheek piece as my scope is a bit high, and the positions taught will get me to be a better shooter.

I just kept thinking, "He is not holding back any of his tips. He knows we would be better shooters, why is he doing this ?"

Then I remembered a phrase that fits this situation. "A rising water raises all ships". By setting the standards high, everybody improves. Thanks for setting the bar higher for us.

Also thanks to Slavex for letting us use the club.

I had a great time ! Looking forward to the next session.:p

yeah it was a great day, cold as ####, but a great day. Longshot was a great instructor, I'm not under any illusions that I could beat him at SR, but simply improving is good enough for me.
