Ok, been using a cheesy handgun case for years. Decided to buy a Pelican Vault V300 with the firm foam that you have to trace and cut out (not the pick and pluck). My questions are:

- what type of foam cutting tool works best e.g. electric knife or?
- what works best, guns and mags laying down flat or standing up (I have two now but would like to carry 3 or 4 at some point in the case)
- do you use 1 or 2 padlocks

All input appreciated

Thx, thought you were joking till I googled it.

Looks like they'll be laying down as my wheel gun is to long to stand up. This won't look too bad but I'll need another case for my next purchase.

Hot wire or electric carving knife from goodwill. Flip the foam and lay out reversed to mark and cut. The good side will look much better when you flip it back up. No tracing lines etc.

I don't cut rifle case foam. Just the egg crate foam.

Nanuk, a Canadian company has nice pre cut Pistol cases.

Good luck

For your next case , if you haven't already, check out hardcases.ca , they have nanuk cases for 1,2,3,4,6,15 and 20 guns and they look to be fairly well laid out.
They come on sale often, just have to keep watching the site.
And their case locks are nice.

Cool site with a ton of options, including a standup revolver case with up to 8" barrels. Thanks.
