I didn't get any response on the optics forum so I thought I would try here....

I am looking for a budget red dot for my .22

Has anyone used one of these?

Can anyone report on quality? Battery type? Will the high mount co-witness with AR15 sights?

Thanks.

I have been using an el cheapo tasco red dot(IIRC 40 bucks) on a 10/22 for a couple of years now. works fine loves batteries.:)

If you want something of quality but not TOO expensive, go for a bushnell trs-25. You can get it for around $100-$130 and it is a pretty decent red dot.

Yes, that is probably the best bang for your buck red dot right now. Spend a little more and you'll have something that will last for years vs weeks.

Email sales@theammosource.com and ask about this model's price and availability:

I've sold tons of those little red dots and as far as I know none have broken. Just because I don't mark them up alot doesn't mean they are junk.

Go for it....I've had one of the no-name aimpoint looking things for years on my AR15 and it holds zero, battery is still working, hasn't broke yet.
Bushnell and Tasco just slap their names on the same things and charge 3 or 4 times the price.
