Anyone rocking these? How are you enjoying it and if you did - how was converting the mag well to take stanag patter ones?

I had one of the original 540s with a bunch of mags years back, and loved it. Reliable, reasonably ergonomic, accurate, and not too heavy. One of my buddies bought the newer version you're asking about and also has had nothing but good things to say about it. I still prefer the old-school Cold War vibe of mine though

Go with an "Old School" model with iron sights if you can find one. They have a far superior Buttstock (albeit with a fixed Length Of Pull), and proper handguards rather than those cheese-grater picatinny rails from the 1990s that the 1Ms are equipped with. I really like my 540 with the Yugo Zhukov Stock Adapter which allows the use of cheek-risers.

I wanted a functional cheek riser for my 542 as well, but I went for an ACR stock on mine. Worked great.
