I'm almost ready to do something bad and pick up a handgun I can use for 3-gun and IPSC production even though I'll be buying a rifle at the same time lol. Out of the 3 players, Shadow was the most comfortable to shoot and got best groups in my hands. I wanted to ask you gents a couple of questions..

1) What's the difference between Shadow and Shadow Line? Worth the extra $50?

2) Should I go with rubber or aluminum grips?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Shadow Line gives you:
- very nice aluminum grips
- combat hammer
- slightly nicer trigger
- Ambidextrous thin shape safety
- Steel recoil spring guide rod

Its definitely worth the extra $50

As for rubber vs aluminum, I prefer the look of the aluminum but the rubber grips feel a bit nicer.

Hvala na savetu! :D The difference for me is 2 extra mags' worth, but I might just go with Shadow Line anyway. For better hammer/trigger/guide rod, I won't complain and I'll save a few bucks by grabbing the mags from CRAFM ;)

I think for $50 (plus $50 for the 3rd mag you DONT get with the Shadowline model) its well worth it. I really REALLY like the thin aluminum grips but I like the CZ custom thin grips with grip tape inserts better.

My shadowline is my favourite handgun ever. I shoot it better than any other gun ive ever shot. Fit or fundamentals... who cares. It makes me a better shooter.

FWIW... the thin shaped safety sucks. I bought just the left side safety from the regular shadow model and its WAY better. Why anyone would want a THINNER safety for a competition gun is beyond me.

keep in mind the CZ 75 Shadoow Line has the same profile barrel as the CZ75.. its a lighter barrel, the SP01 is a heavy barrel. in theory, better for sustained fire, better accuracy, and less recoil because of the weight.. but i dont know if any of that is all that noticeable.. you would have to do a side by side... so if yer getting a Shadow line, just go for whatever one looks better to you.... ive got the 75 Line, and im going to grab the SP01 most likely the Line eventually, but im going to grab the rubber grips and the SP01 safety's.

The shadowline is made in a few different models, saying you want a shadowline can denote I believe 3 different pistols. 75b shadowline, SPO1 shadowline, and I think Phantom shadowline.

Thanks for the heads up. Let's say we're talking SPO1 Shadow Line (as I mentioned on the BRRC forum, too much of an alphabet soup from CZ and too many are too similar). It looks like $50 extra and 1 mag less, but I could recoup some of that in shipping if I get the mags from the same source.

The steel guide rod is a $25-$30 part, and aluminum grips will run you $100-150 depending on the style and where you get them. CZ mags are usually about $50. The trigger on the shadow line I've never tried. It's really up to the buyer on which spo1 you choose neither is a bad choice. Fishing world may price match if you find a cheaper advertised in stock, either retailer is a sponsor here and should do you right.
