Hey everyone,

I picked up my Shorty from CanAm last week and I couldn't be more happy with it aside from one set back, the stock seems quite loose. I took it apart, removed the packing grease and reassembled it to spec which managed to take some of the rattle out of it but it still doesn't feel like it fits very snug.

Should it be factory tight or have a little play in it? Could I get a recommendation on what I might check to tighten it up a little?

The name of a dealer I could get a similar synthetic/wood stock for a reasonable price would be fantastic as well!

Thanks again fellas for all your help.

Check the Equipment Exchange on this site regularly, there's usually someone selling good replacement stocks.

Also, Boyds Gun stocks sells nice new wood stocks, including Walnut and Pepper Laminate (not traditional looking but very attractive).

Many companies making synthetics.

Our own members have at least two companies making fancy custom modern stocks...one out of billet aluminum, the other is using carbon fibre and fibreglass...

There's quite a few options for stocks for the M-14 here in Canada!
