Hi I have this old Sharp's four barrel Derringer style pistol. It's in good overall shape. Grips are not cracked, metal is good. Could use a cleaning but the hammer doesn't hold position or engage the sear to stay in position. With that in mind any clue on the value? 20241216_194804.jpg20241216_194822.jpg20241216_194848.jpg

OK, I'll bite!
Which caliber is it? They made these in 30RF or 32RF. 32RF is usually worth more since ammunition is simpler.
What's the bore like?
If you push forward on the trigger, from the bottom, while cocking the gun, does the gun stay cocked?
Is there a half ####? You can find out in the same operation: push forward on the trigger while gently and slowly cocking the hammer...
Does the firing pin rotate when you #### the hammer? You shouldn't need to push the trigger forward, each time the hammer goes all the way back and all the way forward again, the firing pin should rotate to the next barrel.

Sorry, Canadiangunnutz changes c0ck to #### to avoid obscenity. On a gun board, this would seem to be a word you could allow. Cocking seems to survive. So, is there a half c0ck, and does the firing pin rotate when you pull back the hammer...

They were also available in 22 short...I had one of these in my hand yesterday! No idea on current value...but I know that the 22 version is pretty much worthless due to it's prohib classification. The 32 rim version would be nice.

I bought one of these Sharps 4-barrel pistols at an antique store three years ago for $275. It was in .30 calibre and it had a broken mainspring. I figure that was a pretty good price for it. I’m sure it would have been priced higher now that everything Antique Status has gone Full Retard. Also, the availability of the H&C Rimfire Reloading Kits has breathed new life into .32 RF so it would be worth more in .32 than .30, I would bet. It wasn’t expensive to get a mainspring made, so I was lucky finding that one.

I'll check on the calibre I believe it's 32. No the firing pin doesn't rotate anymore. It used to. As for the bore I'd have to check but everything needs to be cleaned. Does cleaning it diminish it's value?
