This is a 45-90 I believe. The rifling looks surprising good with dark grooves. A repair to the stock is old. The spring that holds the lever up is not functioning. The rear 'trigger' is a safety and is stiff but functions correctly... and the front triggers fires...

I have no interest in stripping and cleaning it... which it needs.

I seen them go from $800 US right up to and over $3000 so its hard to say.

Theres one on Gun Broker with the full wood stock in 45 70 its asking $1950 US
 
I have never seen one before, Looks real light and sturdy!

Is it a military arm? At one time did it have a full forestock and barrel bands??

I think that rifle is a military with the forend shorten or replaced, from the pictures it has the military sights, not sure but that is what it looks like.
The rear trigger is a saftey and you have to pull it back to fire the gun and it should reset when you open the gun

Sharps -Borchardt rifle

I've had a 2 of these over the past 40 years, the first one when I got it, I bought in Guatemala, where it had probably been an original military rifle, but someone had redone the piece as a mid-range target in 44-77, it was a hell of a shooter, with good quality sights, it would put every shot into a coffee cup at 200 yards,and I've still got targets from that rifle on my den wall!
The second one was a full US military stocked 45-70, in excellent shape, which also shot well, I sold that 4 years ago for $1300 can. I'm looking at another one right now, same military set up, for about the same price, hope this helps. regards Bully.
 
Having a chamber of 45-90 length is weird for a Military rifle... although the fore end appears it could have had a ram rod through it... and altered a long time ago. The long barrel and sights appear original. I wish everyone could handle it and give a better idea...
 
When the gun was altered it could have been rechambered at that time, is there any caliber markings on it. It may be marked 45 2.1, I can not remeber if the miltary rifles were marked but sporting rifles are marked

I am beginning to think this is an altered Military Model...

No designation of caliber anywhere...

Had a look in the Sharp's book by Sellers and there is mention of some of the military rifles sold to a western dealer with carbine forends but the guns had the dealers name put on them and the carbine forend is different then the one on your gun. Some of the big dealers also bought some of the military guns and may have alter them to sell but again it could have been alter at anytime of it life
