Sharps Rebarrel

Wow, I assumed that the 5% thing was only for new imports. I'm really surprised at the huge increase in cost of importing these days. Most of my rifles came in from Prophet River ( which was using Borderview at the time ) for $150 plus taxes.

Chris.

Ya, I'm horrified by the cost. I think the solution is to rebarrel the Sharp's with stainless, and just wear a paper bag over my head when I'm at the range...haha

UPDATE
I just heard back from Borderview Firearms, the customs
guy in Abbotsford who Shilo uses for this kind of thing. They want
$299 +5% of the value of rhe rifle to take it across the border. Then they UPS it to Big Timber,
at my expense. Shilo fixes it for $650 US, then UPS back
to orderview
(at my expense), who then brings it back into Canada, for another
$299+5% of the value of the rifle. Then Canada Post brings it to me, at my expense.
Canada Post brings it here, also at my expense.

Damn.
600 bucks plus just to get it across the border. By time it was all said and done it cost me about 600 bucks to import my Shiloh in the first place. Plus the cost of the rifle about 3000 usd.
So about 150ish
A lot of money the rifle will still be a Shiloh Sharps and worth more at the end of the day. Than if you put some other barrel on it.

Hopefully I never need any warranty work done. Just driving down to Montana with it in the back of my car would be just to f ing easy.

Ouch!!! I am sorry here. That adds up in a hurry. A long shot but give Ryan at IBI barrels in Chilliwack a call, maybe he has an idea to assist you.

Leo Bumphries used to do Canadian warranty work for Shiloh.

Chris.
