Being a neophite at reloading,I'm finding out there's lots to learn-and my question relates to shell holder compatability.I started out with a LEE press, and got the shellholder to fit my 9,3x57[basically the same as the 30-06 group]but when I tried to put the shell holder in my newly acquired Lyman Orange Crusher,it wouldn't fit...not a big deal, they're not expensive-but where do I find out what shell holders fit what equipment?

that's a puzzle, I thought they were universal. I use RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, and Lee interchangeably in my Pacific press with no problem.

Just remember the shell holder's aren't necessarily compatible with the Dies.
A Lee 30-06 shell holder is a number #2 an RCBS 30-06 is a # 3
That will really mess ya up if you use a Lee #2 with and RCBS die

I use Lee shellholders on three different makes of presses. So far as I know, they are interchangeble, although each manufacturer has their own number system. But so far as I know a Lee 308 shellholder would work witrh any make of 308 dies.

I have always found that a standard shell holder fits any press.

I have not tried them all but I thought that is why they are called standard in that they are interchangeable.

As noted above though, different companies use different numbering systems.
