I have an old Bair "Grizzly" single stage press I'm happy with, but I'm having issues with the shell holders. The slot in the top of the ram into which the shell holders slide is a tad generous, but this wouldn't be a problem if the tiny little set screw held the holder firmly in place. It doesn't, and I keep having to tighten it up, and eventually, the hex head strips out. Try finding these short set screws, too. Few businesses have them.
I've since heard of a spring clip that holds the shell holder in place, but I can't seem to find these in the RCBS catalogue.
Do these things work? How well? Anyone have a part number for these? Anyone know of a Canadian supplier?
Or should I be considering a different ram, one with less slop in the shellholder slot? Mine is 13/16th inch across, and 4 and 3/4 in long.
