One last question:

What does shooting steel actually do? Does it banana peel the barrel, explode the barrel or just wear it down?

If the barrel wears from shooting slugs and buckshot, will it eventually blow up, or we talking about that it just mess the choke up and get strange accuracy and pattern?

Steel is not soft like lead and does not compress like lead does when it hits a choke, therefore it would likely damage the choke or cause a bigger failure

I have no experience with wear though. Maybe a shooter who put 10's of thousands of shells can answer, though I suspect wear would be minimal
