Well I finally got it to fit!:dancingbanana: I had bought one a month or so back through Brownell's and with some web surfing, I stripped the factory trigger down and started to reinstall the safety etc., back onto the Shilen.
Now the fun began, after an hour of trying to install the pin retaining clip over the pivot pin, my thumbs were numb and the clip was barfed:puke:

I says to myself, self I said, geez its almost like the pin was now magically too short for the clip to slide over the end. Here I was frustrated and with the snap clip broke, SOL, as Remington does not sell this part to the unwashed masses, nor does Brownell's under agreement to Remington. A quick look at the Brownells site, showed that RifleBasix sells a rebuild kit for Remington triggers, which included the wee booger of a clip, problem solved, a mere $29.95 USD and I was in business.

So I sent an email to Shilen explaining the probem, pin now too short, busted clip, yada yada yada, and sent it on its way. Two hours later my POP 3 mail server kicks back the email saying it couldn't find the site.
In desperation, I went back to the Brownells site, found they have a web Q&A for their gunsmith, so I banged off another email, explaining all the above, and clicked send. The next day, I got an email from a real person from Brownell's telling me that they had checked their entire inventory of these Shilen triggers and they found that, now get this, over half of them had been assembled so that they were .006 too thick overall, and thats why my pin had appeared to shrink. They had me box it up and send it back and exchanged it for a good one, plus refunded me my return shipping, and charged nothing to ship the new one back.
I put it together at lunch today in 10 minutes. Now to set the pull after work, and reinstall the stock, and scope.

Whew what an ordeal, but in time for moose season!!

My hats goes off to the boys at Brownell's for their cross border customer service!

Cheers,
Rick
