Shiny Marble Sight

I recently installed a new Marbles rear sight on one of my guns and am finding that the gloss finish on it (paint or powder coat??) reflects light and obscures the front sight and target.

Does anyone have a simple solution they have used in the past?

Pass the flame of a carbide lamp over it occasionally. It deposits a flat black soot that won't reflect.

Paint it with flat paint.
