Hey guys~planning on a gopher trip in the spring...and need to be 100% sure I don't get caught scrounging for ammo out there. Found a flat of 22 ammo (the one my CZ likes best) here and I'm planning on grabbing it...but obviously, part#2 of that is getting it out there a month or so in advance of the trip.

What might be the most economical way to do this? I have some time...and a budget. Don't know total weight at this point, but can update this thread with that. On the off chance there is some merit in shipping it in 2 lots...that's a possibility too~though I can't see that costing any less.

Thanks for taking a moment to reply!

Shipping ammo is usually not very cost effective if buying from a private deal....You a better deal if buying from a business...they seem to have better shipping rates

CZ452 American?
They will digest just about anything it is Fed,but I do understand fining American Eagle hollow points can be a challenge come gopher season .
You flying, if not take two bricks with you.
Shipping will be a pia in my experience and opinion.
As for UPS(the brown guys) they do not ship ammo for none registered customers...
Unless that has changed in the last three months.
4 pounds of centre fire ammo 60rounds to South Central Sask.was $68.00.

If you can buy it from a online retailer that has flat rate shipping. Have it shipped to where you will need it. I am guessing you're going to a friends ranch so ship it in their name so they can have already picked it up and it's waiting for you.

Unless money is no object, shipping .22 ammo from Ontario to Calgary just for a gopher shoot seems a waste of good cash. A CZ 452 can't be that fussy? If it is, buy a backup rifle. :p

Thanks for the input guys. Running most, if not all it through a Waltz Re-sizing die...otherwise, I'd have tried to track it down out there. That's the plan for spring 2016 anyway. After that~we'll see. Hopefully...I'm working in Alberta by then. :)

try Canpar. You are coming to Alberta looking for a job? Bad timing, unless you have a NDP Government job lined up. So many people are leaving Alberta for the east that they are considering lane reversals on the #1 Highway.

If you fly with air canada you can take 5kgs of ammo in your checked bags. Just declare it they put a sticker on your checked bag and your good to go
