now i need to know what are the shipping standards for a rifle? lady at firearms centre says insured, signature etc...

but when i ordered my sxs the delivered @ post office and no signature was required....

could some one please tell me what the correct method is?

Reguardless of what cfc wants Insure it and get a signature required. Its more piece of mind for the seller and buyer. You can track it and know if it got to the buyer or not.Doesnt cost that much more.

Send it how you like. Cheapest, parcel post is fine if not in a hurry.

I would only insure if it's of high value, but that's just my preference. I wouldn't get signature required either, unless high value. Again, just my preference.

Insurance is up to you.

Signature and insurance is what I always get for my shipments. Signature is for my protection I know who got the rifle. Insurance is for you as a buyer because once it leaves my hands if I don't put insurance it is worth 2 dollars per pound for Canada Post and all other carriers by the way. It is a law in Canada. So your ten pound rifle will cost 20 dollars.

I believe Canada post charges $1.20 per hundred dollars and not by weight.:)
So $1000.00 gun would cost you $12.00 xtra.
