Hi all,

I am still a bit new to this site and am in the process of purchasing some 7.62 ammo for my m305. Myself and the seller are rookies when it comes to ammo deals so we are trying to find out the best method of shipping a case of 500 rounds.

Any information you can give me would be appreciated!

Thanks
Ben

CanPar and UPS are the 2 bigs that I know about. CanPar being cheaper by quite a bit. I've got a depot fairly close by so I just drop it there when I need to. CanPar customer service is pretty chill about it. You can say ammo without them getting all fudd on you if you have questions.

Last time I went to UPS and asked about shipping ammo they told me I need to register an account, pay a several thousand dollar fee on my account to have it registered for shipping dangerous goods (I don't know if this is yearly or what), and then I can ship ammo with them for a $30-40 dangerous goods fee per shipment. The guy looked really new so maybe he was wrong (I hope so) but that's my experience with a UPS store. This was over 5 years ago mind you.

I've read that CanPar is very easy to deal with.
After what UPS told me I just said screw-it and never ship ammo/powder/primers.

Just shipped a bunch across to Ottawa.

I used Purolator. You will need to put a "limited quantity" label on the box.... nothing else to indicate it is ammo. Google and you will see the very simple sign... make it yourself with a jiffy marker.

You have to declare that you have contents that fit in the limited quantity rules. You just do not need to put the ORD explosives sticker or AMMO on the package anymore.

The limited quantity label ensures the package is usually hand moved and not thrown down conveyor belts. THIS is worth it to me.

My box arrived safe and sound. No haz mat fees, no muss, no fuss.

Just another box to ship.

Jerry
