Shipping ammo to B.C. ?

I'm looking to order 1000 rnds of 40 S&W and shipping it to B.C.
Can anyone share their experience ordering ammo online. Is it worth shipping it across the country?
Do you just pay a little more to order it from a closer location?

I've never ordered ammo online before, total fn noob.. lol.

Shipping can be a deal breaker, but the way things are today, you get your ammo wherever you can find it. Canada ammo has free shipping, and a lot of our sponsors now have flat rate shipping, but depending on the supply, sometimes you just have to grin and bear it. The closer the source the cheaper the shipping

You might want to check out custom reload services. Great price and should be near by
 
What exactly are you trying to figure out ?
I understand it is 1000rnds of .40 Cal and that your in Victoria.
Who or where are you buying it from?
Have they not given you a total including shipping?
Wouldnt it be cheaper to drive up island to WSS and pick it up yourself, providing they
have what it is you are looking for.

Rob,

I was looking at Wolverines 1000 rnd @ 180g shipped by Canpar, it comes out to $404.94 for the American Eagle.

Canadian Ammo - doesn't have anything in that caliber for less than $25 an box which would ( even with free shipping ) put the order over $500.

SFRC - has the Wolf ammo @ $284.99 for 1000 rnd @ 180g. Just not in stock so I cant calculate the shipping cost.

You mentioned WSS? I'm not familiar with them.

Have you looked at budget shooter supply?
they have the factory reloads for $15/box of 50 that's $300 for 1000rnds
They are also in Surrey so shipping to Victoria shouldn't be that expensive.

I sent John an email last Saturday, he replied with a quote on Sunday, (which I wasn't expecting that quickly). I placed the order that day, it was in CanPar's possession that afternoon and delivered today!

Awesome!!

I will definitely deal with them for my pistol ammo. Of course I need to get some downrange, but I don't anticipate any issues.
