I just got off the phone with Canpar then DHL. Im waiting for the cops to bust down the door any minute because I am sure the gal at Canpar thinks ammunition is illegal to own, especially in Cases! Im sure she reported me as a safety threat ;)

I got no joy at canpar trying to explain to them it is legal to ship via ground, so I am stuck paying DHL's rates. I had to argue with them because their website states they wont ship it but It is listed in their dangerous goods items. At the end anyone else who finds this problem should just ask to talk to a manager and reference the "dangerous goods list".

Beware they ding you extra and it makes shipping ridiculous. This is a royal pain. Does anyone have any tips on what works better...

Canpar, show up with the package all ready to go and that's all there is to it.

It's 100% legal and good with Canpar. Individual's working for companies seldom know all the regs or throw their own version into the mix.

The only downside to Canpar is the 60 or 70lbs weight limit.

it seems some people have no problems shipping amo and others have a nightmare of a time with it....dont most couriers ship hazadous good for a $15 fee or something????....

I have mentioned this before, a while ago I looked into the 'Transportation of Dangerous Good Act' to determine if ammo could be shipped through Canadapost. Although canadapost tells you they can't, limited quantities of sporting ammo are not considered dangerous goods. You have to write something like LQ CC on the box, but after that you're good IIRC.

Double check my research though, this was a little while ago.
