How can I send ammunition across the country?

I've tried post office and Couriers but no one I have contacted wants to touch it.

Anyone know of any way to ship ammunition?

Adrian

I have used Canpar and DHL. You need to fill out the appropriate TDG documentation for shipping, make sure your package dimensions and weights are correct or they'll refuse the shipment.

Best to package but do not seal the box, print out the TDG paperwork and head to the nearest base - Don't use the retail outlet in the mall, the people there don't know enough to help you. DHL customer service on the phone can be a crap shoot - I'm not sure some of the newer folks know their policy on TDG related goods and just say NO when the're not sure. You might have to dig up a Supervisor.

Last shipment cost around a hundred bucks to ship 300 rounds from Alberta to Ontario - I've never gone further than that. TDG link below.

Thanks fellas. I tried UPS and was told 'No'. Flat out, no discussion.

I called Canpar and since there is no over-counter location nearby they suggested pick-up. The total was $67.46 to ship one box of 20 rounds (475 grams) from Nova Scotia to Sask! I don't think the buyer is gonna be pumped at that cost; but who knows...

Sounds about right unfortunately. I paid almost 60 last year for two boxes of 280 from alberta to NS. I think that was DHL however

For that kind of money, you can be halfway to rolling your own.

The more people who know this, the better.

Let the greedy b*stards price themselves right out of the market!

Loaded ammunition is actually less hazard than pieces of paper.... and they KNOW it.

But that's always been the problem with Canadian business: GREED hath no bounds.

I really think they adopted P.T. Barnum's motto: "There's a sucker born every minute!"

Set up, roll your own.

I really IS the only answer.

That's the truth with all business...not just Canadian. One of the downfalls of capitolism...

I do plan to set up and roll my own someday Smellie, but I haven't found a veteran loader to apprentice yet. I'm not buying in this case, but selling. ;)

Bought ammo from Frontier and had it shipped to me in Winnipeg. Pretty sure it was DHL that Frontier used. Within Manitoba ammo shipped from Virden came either by DHL or UPS.
