Shipping Ammunition?

Got a question:
how do I ship ammunition as a private individual?
Some quick google search turns up either purolator or UPS, but suggest me to have a dangerous good shipping account.
Tried to look at Purolator's e-shipper, and gave me horrendous rate far exceeding the cost of ammo I'm trying to ship.
Did I miss something lol
Also there has been suggestion to piggy backing local firearm store's shipping account. tried that didn't work.
Sorry, no Canpar or ICS as there has been horror stories from my friends and from internet.
 
Ammo for individuals is not an easy task. Lots of people roll the dice with CP and just select ground only. I have had it sent to me thru cp privately many times, I don’t play that game , but some do.
 
Nope, you didn't, but someone will chime in and try and prove me wrong.
The topic crops up sometimes twice a month sometimes even more .
CGN Pony Express, but the success rate is very low.
Btw, I am not trying to be the stick in the mud, just repeating what you are experiencing and I have experienced since CANPAR changed their name to TransPar after amalgamation of other companies.

Call a couple shipping places that use Purolator and UPS. They can use their business account to ship dangerous goods for you. I ship powder, primers and ammo all the time. Good luck!
 
Thanks for all the reply. Turns out there is a local demand for the ammo I'm trying to sale so I'm glad I don't have to ship them lol.
also what does CGN PONY Express means? does it points to the certain company that was on rotating strike after last failed attempt not long ago?
I'll probabaly look into UPS Title 1.4 shipping, just for the future.
 
As of late it seems many have just said screw it when it comes to shipping ammo.

I've recieved multiple shipments of ammo delivered by Canada Post.

Hard times and money's tight for the majority of people and it seems like no one cares what the policy on shipping ammo is.
