Can someone give me some specific advice on how to successfully ship an antique to Canada?
I have recently purchased a nice antique S&W Model 3 in the United States. It is currently a family member’s house and they are going to ship it to me in Canada. I have sent to my family member a copy of the CFC Antique Status Letter, a copy of the CFC FRT document for the S&W Model 3 and also a cover letter for customs.
When my family member took the package to UPS, they asked what was in the parcel. My family member said an antique. The UPS guy wanted more information so eventually my family member said that it was an antique firearm. The UPS guy then said that they couldn't ship it. This was in a gun friendly state.
Also, what should the contents of the package be described as? And what is the best shipping company to go with?
Any help is appreciated.
