Hey guys, so I ordered a new rifle, Mossberg tactical 22 and when i called the place I bought it from, i asked if it can be shipped to a different address then mine as I wont be home to receive it, the place said thats fine because it'll just be in a box. Now i got a message saying they need a pal of the person receiving it. The person has their father who has a PAL and thats why I was gonna ship there. Do you think this would be a red flag for them? Also does someone with a valid pal have to receive the package? Or just anyone in the house can sign for it? Im highly confused now on shipping non-restricted firearms.

I don't think you need someone with a pal to receive a package. I assume it's just a precautionary thing to only ship to households who have someone who's allowed to have the item is all.

ohh ok. Thanks. I was a bit concerned of getting legally involved simply by shipping to a different address even though that address has someone with a PAL. To futher clarify. I bought the gun, no idea if anyone is gonna be home to get it. My girlfriend is home and her dad has a pal so I wanted to ship it there so she or her dad can receive it and I could come pick it up. I was then told I need her pal. So either I would change my order to her dads PAL and under his name and she or her dad could sign for it? I could just call in one day to work and stay home and get the package. :S

Sounds like the place you bought it from is just covering their a$$es by ensuring they're shipping it to a licensed gun owner. From their perspective a kid or someone not allowed to own guns could just use someone else's PAL to buy a gun. Sounds like the easiest way is to just do up the order in the PAL holders name that will be receiving it.
