Shipping powder

From an "average joe" to an "average joe" - is about the same carriers who will handle ammunition, any more - in other words, none, these days, that I know of.

Purolator, but you need a business account.
UPS, but they don't service all areas.
Freight companies, but what a hassle.

They certainly don't make it easy for us anymore.

I just bought 8lbs of powder from someone off here and they shipped it by Canada Post, I was telling a buddy about this that works at Canada Post and he said if you specify that it is to be shipped by ground, he says Canada Post does not x-ray it. Now I am not saying to do this, but this is the second shipment of powder I have received by Canada Post, the first was a sports shop, an no I did not request it be done this way

I believe they quit shipping ammo and powder a couple of years ago. They were good around here but heard alot of complaints elsewhere.

Yeah they are owned by TFI in Quebec and they decided for some reason they would no longer ship ammo or powder. CSSSA tried to get info from them when they announced it but I never saw any reply from anyone.
They have been acquiring trucking and shipping companies like crazy.

For parcels they own and run

Canpar Express, ICS Courier, Loomis Express, TForce Integrated Solutions

Received primers from a retailer via Canada Post not too long ago.
It’s basically impossible to ship powder privately. Purolator will ship ammo, but powder doesn’t technically fall into their guidelines if you read the fine print.
Last powder I received from a fellow gun nut via CP had a small jar with some screws to disguise it. I’m quite a bit less careful than that and have had zero issues. If for whatever reason the package was seized for its contents, I’m not sure how you’d decide who’s on the hook? Shipper probably?
