I offer a flat rate shipping of $15 for simplicity. Shipping to some areas is more and to others is less, but $15 seems to be about average. Also, if the package is larger, and costs me more the same $15 is charged as with a smaller package .... the concept is simplicity and recovery of costs.
Now, the missing part of this equation is the fact that the shipping cost I charge includes tracking for your package. Everything is shipped Expedited or Express, for the simple reason that if things go missing, there is some recourse.
With some reluctance I could ship regular post but my gut tells me this invites trouble ... anyone whose package doesn't arrive or is late can potentially flame me on CGN for something which really was no fault of my own.
My suggestion is to order a sight along with a few other items you might want, in order to soften the blow a bit. Perhaps ask a few friends if they need anything from the site?
This is how I would handle it if I were a customer in order to get the best of both worlds.
