I have a Norinco M14 and up until now I have only shot Norinco copper washed stuff through it, but I was at Canadian Tire the other day and they had Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertip 150 grain 308 on sale for 18.99, normally I see this stuff for way more and the ammo looks cool
I figured there is a rare chance I may go hunting for the first time this year and if not it would be helpful for when the zombies come on December 21st.
So I buy it, come home. Open it up... and it looks like it is a 300 win mag box that says 308 on it. The cartridges are in there styrofoam but from the bottom of the cartridges there is a quarter inch gap to the top of the box. Weird.
I take a cartridge out and check it out...and the bullet comes out! Not crimped at all. I can put it in and take it out with ease. Doesn't even stay in when held upside down.
I checked the other 19 and they are crimped and the primers look fine, but this is my first time buying hunting ammo and it just seemed...substandard. Any thoughts?
