The Edmonton Gun Club is doing another charity trap shoot this summer. This year the Stollery Children's Hospital, located in Edmonton, AB, is the beneficiary. Last year the club raised $12,000 for another charity via this event, making it a great way to get in some shooting and support a worthy cause as well.

The date is Saturday, August 27th, and the entry fee covers 100 shells, your targets for the day and a BBQ steak dinner in the evening. Wholesale Sports is a major sponsor and has donated six shotguns as major prizes, with lots of other smaller prizes from other sponsors. And you don't need to be a great shotgunner to win anything, as many of the events are luck based and the better shooters are given a calculated handicap.

There's also a prize draw for an over/under shotgun for all early registrations. The cut off for that is this Thursday, August 11th, so get your name(s) in quick!

If you happen to have the May 2016 issue of Alberta Outdoorsmen magazine in the house, there's a story about last year's shoot in it. Also, for more details see the Edmonton Gun Club web page at www.edmontongunclub.com Click on "Stollery Shoot" along the top menu. The club is a great trap shooting facility, located just south of Edmonton near the International Airport.

This is a fun time, you get some practice in for bird season, and you help needy kids. That's more than enough reasons to go shooting.
