Shoot or Practice in Inclement weather?

As a hunter, I shoot in all weather.

I hit the range when I can, that means not caring about wind, rain, snow, whatever. The shacks shelter enough and there is a woodstove for extended days in the cold.

Being retired I can pick and choose the days when I shoot and as I get older I have become more of a fair weather shooter, color me a woossy I'm ok with that :ROFLMAO:

Once the weather is in the minus range at the wind in the double digits it is not comfortable but it is good to get the experience because game day shoots don't "shive a git". The wind requires considerable getting use to and forgetting plus remembering what the conditions were like at the last shoot. Wind flags can be read with some experience and a slight shift can be disastrous when missed. At 200 metres the game changes and getting 10 shots off during a constant wind pays dividends.

Do you all go out and shoot your rimfires in inclement weather intentionally?

I try getting to range once a week generally and for most part will still shoot in the cold or rain or snow. Shoot on windy days as well all within reason of course. Any temps colder than -15 or so or wind over 30kms I skip it, specially for Rimfire. I will say sometimes it’s kinda nice as most crappy weather days I end up with the range to myself.

Planning head to range today after work as temp seems nice but winds are supposed to be in high 20kms. Packing my gear this morning Just got me wondering who else braves the elements to have some fun or get in some competition practice (after all comps can fall on crappy weather days)

We shoot in all weather, but our range has heated indoor benches - we shoot out windows at 50, 100 and 200 meters.

If we had to actually sit outside in -30 just to target shoot I doubt very much we'd be as enthusiastic about it. I don't even like walking from the house to the car in winter.
