I have this full belt of 303 ammo that may be too collectable to shoot. I have no modern factory ammo and will be a bit before I can get my reloading press up for 303.

I know it’s a long range machine gun ammo, but from what I gather it’s safe to shoot in a No4. I have an unissued 1950 long branch I planned on never shooting, but with the future not guaranteed, I figure it’s time to degrease it and shoot it.

So any opinions? Save it or should I just send it?

I'd save it.

If you decide to shoot it, after the first few rounds you'll realize it's crap and really not very accurate but then you'll have ruined any collectability that a full intact belt of ammo might have had. You'll really have no option after that than to burn up the rest of the mediocre ammo which will be a relatively boring exercise because of accuracy issues. There's also the possibility of corrosion.

IMHO Buy some decent modern milsurp style factory to play with - if you insist on shooting your unissued Enfield.

A typical Vickers belt is 250 rounds. Is this 110 rounds in a 250 belt or has the belt been shortened?

Modern, common ammo...not really collectible, worth more a shooting ammo. Should also be good brass for reloading. If you MUST save some, keep 25 rounds and shoot the rest.

Well I ended up selling it. Getting out of 303br in general. When reloading supplies are this hard to find, I have other rifles I enjoy enjoy shooting and loading for more.
