The Ontario Rifle Association will be holding a number of Vintage Rifle shoots this year at Camp borden (Barrie) and/or Winona (Hamilton).
This involves shooting prone, sitting and standing at deliberate, snap, rapid and moving targets. It is great fun and we don't take the scores very seriously.
In theory, the Garand, Mauser and Lee Enfield are the best rifles for this kind of shooting. But I won the last shoot with a Norinco SKS!!
You don't have to be a member of the ORA to shoot this event. Dust off your vintage, military or hunting rifle and come out for a fun day with lots of shooting. 100 rounds should do it.
Under the Milsurp Forum I have posted a full invitation, along with lots of pictrures of milsurps in action at a match.
I hope to see some of you with your new Ruskie SKS or Norc M14s at the range this summer. I will bring my new Norc M14, or maybe a Ruskie SKS if I get one that is not too nice to shoot.
PM me your real email address and I will keep you advised of times and places.
